Well I finally got back from New York. It was a pretty long adventure, but I had fun for the most part.
The first day we got there we went out to dinner at this resturant called...crap... I think it started with Sephora... and after that we went to Times Square. It was so awesome. It's hard to take Manhattan in all at the same time. The lights, the buildings, the people were just so different than anything back home. After that we went back to the hotel to get ready for the next day.
That day we went back to Times Square to purchase tickets to go on the those double decker tour buses. It was a beautiful day and the tour was pretty cool. We got off at Battery Park and took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. We couldn't go inside the Statue of Liberty because you need to purchase your tickets beforehand online so they can do a background check on you. It was still nice. After that we went back on the bus and went on a tour of Brooklyn. During the tour my mom, aunt and me, got off at one of the stops and took a cab to Chinatown. That was an experience all on its own...
Chinatown has this street called Canal Street and women love this area because you can buy all sorts of clothes, purses, accesories, and all that other stuff at really good prices. But it's also known to sell fake designer items, which is of course illegal. So my mom and aunt wanted to buy some of these illegal items, and I swear to God that I think it's the most shaddiest, but one of the funniest thing I ever done. When you go inside the stores, you have little Chinesse people whispering in your ear "You want Prada, Louis Vutton..." So when you say yes they check outside to see if the cops are coming. They usual have one person keep a look out while they do buisness. When the close is clear they sneak you to this back room. The door looks like it's part of the wall. You have to whisper inside the room just incase the cops are around because they can get arrested. Anyway, one time I went into the room and my aunt started haggling with this lady and she got mad at her and ended up hitting me! WTH man... Some other people have catalogs and you just point to what you want and they go get it for you.
After shopping we went back to the hotel and took the night tour of NY, which was of course very beautiful. The next day my parents and I woke up early to by tickets to see a Broadway show. Luckily they didn't have the one my grandma wanted to see and we ended getting tickets for one called The Producers. My grandma wanted to see Mamma Mia, which is based on songs from ABBA... hell no. We had a matinee show so my dad, grandma, and me went to St. James theater later that afternoon and my mom and aunt did their own thing. That musical was so funny. I hadn't laughed like that since...since that adventure at Canal St. lol. Later that night we went to the Empire State Building and took a Ferry Ride to Staten Island.
We were suppose to go back to Miami yesterday, but our flight was cancelled. We were rescheduled to leave New York today, stop at GA, and from GA go back to Miami. Luckily my mom thought we should just leave to GA that night and go to Miami the next day because the flight from GA to Miami was canceled. The only flight that left to Miami was the one we ended up going on.
Traveling with my family can be a pain in the ass. I think they purposely like to drive me nuts. I was kind of sad because my grandma can't do the things she use to do. It's like taking care of a little kid. My dad was loosing his temper and I really hate it when he acts like an asshole. My mom... well my mom was just being annoying to put it in nicer words. For the most part though, our vacation was great.
